WMD just released our newest Eurorack Module, the SL3KT (pronouced "Select") and for a 4 hp module with a low price, it is surprisingly versatile.

SL3KT is a three channel switch where each physical switch and CV input are normalled to the next. To break the normal, just put a cable into the CV input of the channel you'd like to control independently.

What is a eurorack switch module and what is it good for?

In this video, Alex runs through six different patch examples that you can use a switch for in your modular synthesizer system. Sequencer selection and combination, Waveform mixing with an audiorate CV signal, Preset fabrication to get multiple sounds out of one synth voice, and three separate logic functions are all covered indepth with a "from scratch" patch style.

Switches are one of the most underrated modules in a system because they allow you to set up multiple signal routings making a complex patch very simple to control. With a voltage offset, one can create the same logic functions found in a dedicated logic module and some sequencers.

We designed SL3KT with 1V/Oct signals in mind and having the ability to switch between two sequencer sources for one synthesizer voice destination. Though, there is so much more that you can do with a switch module.
