wood turning a clock from rippings

What we have here is a bunch of ripping's out of the scrap bin. I've arranged them on dark and light woods, they include oak ,maple, mahogany, ash and walnut. After gluing up I'll crosscut them into strips starting 2 at 40mm then 2 at 35mm then 2 at 30mm and so on to 5mm then the rest is about 40mm. So I take the strips to the bench and glue them together in the same order adding a 1mm strip of walnut between each piece. The next day cut a circle out of the blank and screw on the ring then take it to the lathe to turn. Nothing fancy just flat and round with a recess in the back for a movement. I use my normal finish of shellac and Chestnut products cut'n polish.
