Yep, that's right, I cut my finger on the bandsaw, luckily it was very minor. Just a reminder to me not to rush, and to think before I do things.

Today's project is a cookie/biscuit pot. I had to save this piece of Ash when we were cutting the firewood last year, the markings are so striking! The body of the piece has been sanded to 10000 grit and finished with Danish Oil, Sanding sealer, and wood wax, the inside has been finished with a foodsafe oil so my biscuits are safe . The lid is made from Hard Maple and the handle is the world's most expensive and gorgeous wood, Snakewood (a first time turning on the channel!). Both parts of the lid were sanded to 10000 grit and finished with Danish oil, Sanding sealer and wood wax.

The piece is approximately 23 x 12cm

Let me know what you think about this piece! It is available on my website link below.

I now have a website! I know it's taken a long time, visit it here: www.harrysmithwoodturning.com

Disclaimer:
My videos are for entertainment purposes only. Some of my techniques might not be the "best" or safest, so when using any tool or machinery always read and understand safety/manufacturers guidelines first.
And Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practice. The gloves I wear are tightfitting and don’t have any loose threads. I wear them for the protection of my skin. This is a risk that I am willing to take, however I am still very conscious of the potential danger and I do not touch any spinning parts of the lathe. DO NOT copy my actions if you feel unsafe doing so.
