Positioned on a peninsula just outside of Silverpine Forest, The Kingdom of Gilneas had receded from the Alliance of Lordaeron after the Second War. Under order of King Genn Greymane, the massive doors to Gilneas were barred, effectively refuting admittance from the outside world. Not long after the doors closed, a Worgen curse would spread among the citizens of Gilneas, leading to a long and violent civil war. The surviving inhabitants would finally emerge after the Cataclysm, filling the ranks of the Alliance with Gilnean Worgen, individuals capable of shapeshifting at will all while maintaining their humanity.
