First German LEGO Train Club: World record holder for longest pulled LEGO train.
no parts were lubricated or glued
no push engine or hidden motor was used
use of nothing but standard magnet couplings (most never used before)
90% of waggons were new (rest like new)

At FestiBriques French LEGO Fans have run a 170 cars long train!

So this old record for logest train is obviously atomized! Congratulations to the French LEGO Fans!

Further Record facts (French train Oct. 2011):
152 tanker from 7939 Set (each 22 stud length incl. coupling),
1 Custom Loco (31 stud),
1 BNSF Loco; 2 motors (37 stud),
1 Custom Maersk Loco; 2 motors (50 stud),
4x 3741 Loco 1 motor each (27 stud),
3x 3742 tender (19 stud),
10x waggon with 2+2 axles in bogies (27 stud),
2 waggons with 2 axles (19 stud)

Summarized: 10 Motors and 362 wheelpairs
total length: 3935 studs = 31,5 meter.
That French train has been the longest (3935studs), contained the most axles (362) and the highest numbers of cars in 1 train (170 cars).

The longest "front engine pulled" LEGO train is still the German one: 126 cars (each 18.5 studs) made a full loop on an oval (at 127 waggons derailment occured).
