Getachew is a political theorist at the University of Chicago. She will speak to the themes of her monograph Worldmaking After Empire: The Rise and Fall of SelfDetermination, which reconstructs an account of selfdetermination offered in the political thought of Black Atlantic anticolonial nationalists during the height of decolonization in the twentieth century.
