Crazy Easy Stir Plates that work incredibly well.
I've been recently using these for Kveik yeast by laying a reptile heating pad across a 2 pairs of these stir plates to give me 4 heated stir plates running about 95F (heating pad set to med (YMMV)) in a room temp of 74F. Works great.
The video ran a little long so if you have built a stir plate before and just want to jump to how to build these go to 05:45 in the video.
You will need a razor blade or good scissors, a regular Phillips screwdriver, super glue (gel version preferred), and leftover cardboard.
When this video was made, Amazon was the cheapest source at about $69 for a single stir plate. Keep in mind this was built for about $20 for 2 stir plates. (Prices have increased a bit.)

This is hands down the most straightforward stir plate to make without question. I've been using these things for almost 7 years now (as of 2024), and they work amazingly well and without issues. Inexpensive and very easy to make with just a few items. Yeast stir plates are used to prepare your yeast starters for brew day.
