Saturday 29th October 2022, saw the Swiss Rhätische Bahn set a worldrecord for the longest passenger train in history (1.91km) – to celebrate 175 years of Swiss railways.

To mark the occasion, the team behind the Andeer Line emulated the worldrecord attempt in HOm, with a model train consisting of 107 passenger vehicles, with ‘distributed power’ in form of two Bemo ‘Allegro’ threecar units – with the full consist measuring around 20 meters in length.

The model successfully ran more than two full circuits at scale speed before invited guest and the members of the public visiting at Pecorama in Devon.

Congratulations to the Rhätische Bahn on their record breaking achievement and special thanks to Julia and Derek Boswell, and all those who assisted with the provision of rolling stock for replicating attempt in miniature; Glenn Allen, Jonathan Collinge, Mervyn Kendall, Nick Warren, and James Hudson of DCC Automation.
