Largest XB70 EDF electric jet. 15 Feet Long, 76.8 Pounds

Hard to land partly due to Large Plane Illusion. Large planes appear to the human eye to be deceptively slow and low. They actually are flying much faster and higher than they look. Ultimate exampleC5 Galaxy. Looks like its doing 40mph as it approaches an airport traveling 300 mph.

Not Knowing a model's true speed or altitude presents challenges in flightesp during landing. My biggest fear was hitting the tree line because plane appeared to have cleared them but actually was far away on the other side. If you begin to descend to the runway when it looks like your large plane has cleared the trees, you fly right into them. So I overcompensated forgetting how large planes also appear lower than trueand came in way too high the first time. Second go around more problems.
Third time's the charm. Finally landed it. But both 4 wheel main gear malfunctioned. Starboard gear straightened out, but port delivered a "tip toe landing". Surprisingly, no damage at all. Even more surprisingsame thing happened to the full scale planeand on the same port side
