At a time when Soviet surfacetoair missiles became dangerous to American fighter jets, the Pentagon began creating the fastest and largest bomber in this country's history with the name XB70 Valkyrie. However, Valkyrie never had a chance to drop the bomb. According to the National Interest (USA), the XB70 Valkyrie, although promising, was never put into mass production. Only one prototype still exists today, located in a museum in Dayton, Ohio.
