Yak 18T or just "Teshka" is the aircraft that paved the way to aviation for many pilots. Today we review Yak 18t. We have found a stunning aircraft, which is located at the Plastunovskaya aerodrome of the Krasnodarskiy krai. The aircraft is owned by Evgeniy who is an ATPL licensed pilot and a captain of Boeing 737 who works for one of the Russian Airlines. Why is Evgeniy is so into GA?

May be GA gives people the freedom they cannot get in commercial aviation? If you are a pilot or just thinking about becoming one the this video is for you.

Hello friends! This is Pilot's Way channel and today we review a very, very, very interesting aircraft!

The development of Yak 18t began in 1964. The first flight of this model occurred in 1967 and It had been in production from 1973 to 1983. It was produced on Smolensk aviation plant. There had been 536 aircraft produced during that period, including the ones used for test flights. In 1974 an air medical service aircraft was designed based on the model of Yak 18T, which should have transported one sick passenger on the stretchers accompanied by a doctor, however this idea was never put into production. In Yakovlevs design bureau, there were ideas of making skis and floats for it, however as with the latter example, the production was never launched.

At first Yak 18T was designed as a multipurpose aircraft, that is why the Ministry of forestry and the Ministry of Health of the USSR ordered around 300 of them. However these orders were never fulfilled, as the decision was made by a to make Yak 18T a training aircraft. Look for more information about aviation on kudri fm, pilots notes, Vladimir Vasilied and other channels. During the 10 year period the Smolensk aviation plant was supplying this aircraft to Civil Aviation flight academies located in such towns as Aktubinsk, Buguruslan, Kirovgrad, Krasniy Kut and Sasovo. Unfortunately, the aircraft were never supplied to aviation clubs of DOSAAF (which stands for Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Navy).

In 1988 Yak 18T production was halted by the order of Ministry of Civil Aviation of the USSR. Some of these aircraft were disposed of, but some were purchased and maintained by aviation enthusiasts. As a result this aircraft has become one of the most popular among commonwealth countries. Some of these aircraft were sold to private owners from all over the globe. That's why you can see it in many countries including New Zealand, the United States and Australia. Smolensk aviation plant has renewed a small scale production of Yak 18T. There had been series of 15 aircraft produced for the famous flight school UVAUGA but after they have produced only single models
