Sky Whale heavylift VTOL drone was demonstrating a cargo delivery like this: it took off with the cargo, flew to the target point, and landed there. At the target point, one operator took the package out and press a button on the VTOL to enable it to fly back to the takeoff point. The whole process was totally in autonomy.
