NBC's Keir Simmons reports on Two U.S. Marines Violently Attacked by Mob During Port Visit in Turkey.

The troubling incident, caught on camera, shows a group of men holding the American service members by force. One even threw a sack over one of their heads. Turkey says 15 people have been detained in connection wtih the incident that happened in broad daylight.

The violence scene shows several men holding the Marines, who were not in uniform. At one point, one man who was unable to break free shouted for help. According to local officials, 15 people, including 13 men, attacked the service members who had been dressed in civilian clothes.

The mob, part of a nationalist antiAmerican youth group, were immediately apprehended. Officials say five other Marines were involved. The two Marines who were attacked are assigned to the 24th Expeditionary Unit on board the USS Wasp. #Marines #News #Politics
