Yosemite Official Warns Residents After Something TERRIBLE Hit The Park!

In the early days of the American Civil War, soldiers were sent to a region called Yose, a name that came from the Ahwahneechee word for grizzly bear. By the late 1850s, the beautiful landscapes of Yosemite started attracting artists, photographers, and adventurers who were amazed by its natural beauty.

During the war in 1864, President Abraham Lincoln made a bold move by signing the Yosemite Grant. This important act protected the Yosemite Valley and the Mariposa Grove. It was the first time the U.S. government set land aside not just to preserve it but also for the public to enjoy. This idea would later grow into the concept of national parks.

John Muir, a naturalist and strong conservationist, became a key figure in the story of Yosd. His passionate writings and vivid descriptions of the park's beauty helped gather support for its preservation. But this wasn’t the end of the story. In 1890, thanks to his efforts and the growing public love for nature, Yosemite became a national park, the third one in the U.S. after Yellowstone and Sequoia.
