Yes, it's possible!

So the other day, I talked to one of the students that is going through the program. She told me that she's currently on that class where in order to pass, they must scrub a mock case for less than 30 mins. It gave me a flash back when I was in the same class. I WAS FREAKING OUT. I remember the dry erase board on the wall that had our names and the fastest times. Someone did it for 23 mins and that literally set the bar high lol little did I know being in the field, 30 mins is actually a lot of time!

I decided to show you guys that it is possible. If I can do it, you can do it too. Don't freak out. Here's my advice:

1. When you open for a case, open the sutures close to the mayo that way when you need to clear your back table, you are easily able to transport the sutures on the mayo.

2. Don't move things multiple times. Stick to 2 to 3 times.

3. Consolidate trash. Move the trash a little closer to you at a arm length that way you're not walking 2 steps to throw little trash.

4. The gowns I would open at the end all stacked up. That's the last thing you're going to set up.

5. You can keep your instruments on the stringer for easier counting that way they don't all fall out.

6. Before you scrub out, make sure everything is labeled!!!! IMPORTANT. THATS A TEST QUESTION.

BE CONFIDENT. YOU GOT THIS.

Will post more of these in the future!

*for the record, you should have the nurse tie you up but I didn't have one at that moment and I had to set up before patient comes into the room.
