They got into fight because Maria thought that D was cheating on her when really her mother was ill and she was trying to take care of her and she was leaving late at night. D said a lot of stupid things in the fight and whenever she told Maria to shut up, she got scared because she was abused as a kid and D knew that, that's why she regretted it and is why she was crying towards the end.
